Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) Manager to lead the KC-46 Systems Engineering Integration Team in Everett, WA. This manager will strategically lead the team toward technical and business excellence for systems engineering activities, as the program develops aircraft capability upgrades, delivers aircraft, and supports the deployed fleet.

The Requirement, Verification, and Integration Team is responsible for numerous items across the KC-46 Program. The team is responsible for owning, writing, maintaining, and verifying airplane level requirements. This work includes specification and interface management as well as specification database management. The team also integrates across the program on many different topics including Risk, Issues, and Opportunities, Deficiency Reporting, Diminishing Material Shortages, Airplane Level Test Reporting, and process development.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops, defines, and executes requirements and requirement verification for baseline and follow-on activity for domestic and international customers.
  • Leads airplane-level engineering integration for the program, including Risk Management, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages, Acceptance Testing, and deficiency report tracking.
  • Collaborates with engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Program Management.
  • Manages other engineering and technical activities as needed in the area of Systems Engineering and Airplane Integration.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees to produce integrated products with a high level of quality.
  • Monitors and executes to a planned budget to support Earned Value Management (EVM) best practices.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. 

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role (either as a lead or a manager).
  • 1+ years of experience in system engineering, including system architecture, requirements and interface development and allocation, verification and validation.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with program management best practices including work package planning, managing cost and schedule, and reporting variances.
  • Experience with Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities and earned value management.
