Airbus defence and space is looking for a Systems Engineer ideally who has a multi skilled IP and RF Communications engineering background.
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of our SATCOM Network Engineering Teams, which is a small team of engineers working primarily out of our Stevenage site
Reporting directly to the Network Engineering Team Lead you will be responsible for verifying the detailed design produced by the Network Engineers in the team, including IP address plans, network diagrams and other supporting documents.
This role is flexible and would suit someone with a Cisco Professional level of qualification or relevant experience, and good understanding of Satellite Ground Systems. There is the potential we would also be willing to train someone who is currently working towards a professional qualification.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

Liaison with customer, design authority and project manager to capture all user and system requirements in order to define the design requirements specification.

Review full system design and check against the high level pre sales design documents and gathered requirements.

Implement & test the service & run testing campaigns on the Systems Reference Model

Lead the VV&T stage of the project coordinating support from other groups as necessary

Provide support for the service transition into operations, from final install to handover, ensuring that suitable information and awareness are provided to relevant operational staff.
ABOUT YOU
-
Qualified knowledge of IP and VOIP systems.

CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) Routing & Switching or equivalent in Voice, Security or Service Provider (or currently working towards gaining a CCNP qualification)

Knowledge of test methods for the above mentioned technologies.

Experience in producing details designs, system diagrams and IP address plans
