WHAT TO EXPECT

 

As a Systems and Interface Engineer, you will be welcomed into the Display and HUD Products Squad, a small team of diverse and passionate engineers (part of User Controls within the Digital Product Platform), dedicated to the design and creation of our next generation, cutting edge display technologies that fulfil the modern luxury brief. This includes centre displays, instrument clusters, head-up displays, rear entertainment systems and any other display applications. Within this team, the successful candidate will work alongside the Displays Product Owner to define, develop, and launch display products for JLR's flagship vehicle lines.  

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Receive requirements from connected stakeholders and translate these into decomposed requirements at the correct level and managing the cyber security compliance for the module and cascading necessary requirements to internal parties.
  • Defining detailed requirements, using recognised systems engineering tools, to enable HW/SW interface design.
  • Modelling of interactions (using MBSE methodologies) so that all internal and external are understood.
  • Produce activity and process diagrams for all interactions; define error detection, error recovery and the diagnostic strategies and support the planning, co-ordination, delivery and reporting of requirements to support programmes and Cycle Plan studies, using our Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS) in conjunction with Agile methodologies.
  • Manage design verification test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off and support engineering test teams with rectification of issues.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

In order to be considered for this position the successful candidate needs to have experience of experience of modelling interactions using MBSE; practical knowledge of failure mode avoidance (FMA), functional failure analysis (FFA), and defining error detection and recovery strategies and understanding of automotive diagnostic protocols.

 

Essential

 

  • Experience using MSOSA within the MBSE framework.
  • Able to apply SYSML for the design, modelling and analysis of complex systems.
  • Working knowledge of RTC, TRM, DOORs, Polarion.
  • Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence and SAP.
  • A practitioner of quality methods like, 8D, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Failure Modes Effects and Diagnostic Analysis or Fault Tree Analysis.
