Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a broad range of experience levels including Senior and Lead Structural Analysis Engineers to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK.

A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2), Bombers (B1, B52, or B2), or the Executive Transport Services & Systems (ETS&S) programs.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Lead and Senior Level Structural Analysis Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

Lead (Level 4)

  • Develops, integrates and documents complex or unique structural requirements to validate Airframe Stress design and Finite Element Modelling assessment
  • Verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the airframe structural environment, characteristics, and performance of the product
  • Understands industry best practices in airframe primary structure and loadpaths
  • Reviews and approves the analytical work and documentation of stress analysts from Levels 1 through 4.
  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment
  • Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
  • Lead development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
  • Support in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements
  • Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
  • Work under minimal direction

Senior (Level 5)

  • Plan and organize structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements
  • Develop, integrate and document complex or unique structural requirements to establish the airframe structures design
  • Develops, integrates and documents complex or unique structural requirements to validate Airframe Stress design and Finite Element Modelling assessment
  • Verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the airframe structural environment, characteristics, and performance of the product
  • Understands industry best practices in airframe primary structure and loadpaths
  • Reviews and approves the analytical work and documentation of stress analysts from Levels 1 through 4.
  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment
  • Guide product design and verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance of the product
  • Work with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes that will ensure requirements are met
  • Review and approves certification results
  • Develop test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Define and organize test programs to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
  • Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements
  • Work under consultative direction 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. 

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • 9+ years’ of experience leading projects or engineering teams
  • 5+ years’ of experience with structural design principles for repair and maintenance (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques)?
  • 9+ or more years’ of experience in structural analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • (Level 5) 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance
  • Experience with Hypermesh, Abaqus CAE, and/or Nastran
  • Experience validating or verifying finite element model results
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Practical experience and knowledge with finite element tools and software
  • Able to independently construct, execute, review, and manage structural finite element models
  • 5+ years of experience Certification/Verification Engineer
  • 5+ years of experience with Boeing Commercial Derivatives methods: Books
  • 5+ years of experience with Aircraft Primary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives – Commercial and/or Military applications (737, 747, 757, 767 & 777)
  • FAA certification, Part 25 (25.571), Part 26, Alternative methods of compliance (AMOCs), Service Bulletins (SB/Ads)

Typical Education/Experience:

Lead (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 5)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range (lead, Level 4): 107,100 – 144,900

Summary pay range (senior, Level 5): 127,500 – 172,500
