Job Description:

A. Accountabilities

The jobholder will be supporting the A220 aircraft programs in the capacity of static, fatigue and damage tolerance as stress specialist. The candidate will work with design office and MRB team to support manufacture in Shenyang.

B. Main activities

  • Work in close collaboration with Liaison Engineers by providing timely stress substantiations to a variety of manufacturing and assembly issues.
  • Engage with Stress engineering team offsite to resolve key technical issues.
  • Support the delivery process by providing technical expertise to delivery teams and external customers.
  • Exchange information and collaborate with other FAL sites to ensure sharing of technical knowledge.
  • Document analyses on stress work files.
  • Support the evening shift as well as the weekends on a rotation basis.
  • Working close with design office to support modification task considering the manufacture capability.
  • Support design office drawing check and work for design to cost. 
  • Regular travel will be required.

D. Input

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical or mechanical engineering as well as a minimum of five (3) yeas of relevant experience.
  • Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis, finite element and static stress analysis experience.
  • Good command of metallic materials and know manufacture process for metallic part.
  • Experience in design office (design or stress) of aircrafts structures (Airframe).
  • Knowledge of stress calculations / justifications;
  • Knowledge of aeronautical used materials.
  • Profound knowledge of NASTRAN, PATRAN, CATIA V5, NASGRO and MS Office (EXCEL and VBA programming).
  • Business trips at home and abroad may needed.

  • The Coachable, observable and measurable skills and competencies critical to the successful performance of the job.
  • Able to work autonomously and be a good team player. Good communication skill.
  • Good command of English language (written and spoken) is required. Knowledge of Chinese (Mandarin) is an asset.
