Senior Manager, Billing

The Role
The Senior Manager of Billing will oversee the billing operations within Solera, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. This role requires a transformative leader who can collaborate closely with Account Management and Sales teams to provide exceptional customer experiences and streamline billing processes. The successful candidate will drive improvements, enhance collaboration, and ensure seamless billing operations in a rapidly evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Lead and mentor the billing team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize billing processes that align with Solera’s overall financial and operational goals.

Process Improvement:

  • Evaluate current billing processes to identify inefficiencies and implement best practices for enhanced accuracy and efficiency.
  • Drive the standardization of billing procedures across acquired entities to ensure consistency and compliance.

Collaboration with Sales and Account Management:

  • Serve as a key partner to Account Management and Sales teams to understand customer needs and ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Collaborate with these teams to address customer inquiries, resolve billing disputes, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

Performance Metrics:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and accuracy of billing processes.
  • Monitor and report on billing performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure billing operations comply with relevant regulations, internal policies, and contractual obligations.
  • Identify potential risks in the billing process and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.

System Integration and Enhancement:

  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to support system upgrades and enhancements that improve billing operations.
  • Ensure seamless integration of billing systems across multiple acquisitions and business units.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in billing or revenue management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, preferably in the automotive or technology sector.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and managing change in a complex, transformative environment.
  • Strong understanding of billing systems, accounting principles, and revenue recognition practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams while fostering cross-functional collaboration.
