The X-66 Sustainable Flight Demonstrator Program is seeking experienced Program Integration Manager (PIM) Project Engineer to join our team and make an immediate impact on Configuration, Development and Program Integration.  Positions will be based in Everett, Washington, while supporting development, build, test and flight at several additional sites.

The position will have abundant opportunities to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and deliver innovative solutions to complex technical problems.  Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Integrator supporting the X-66 Configuration and Development
  • Strategic partner with the first line manager, a primary point of contact to support senior leadership, and work under consultative direction
  • Lead cross-functional teams to evaluate, coordinate, implement and ensure engineering design and retrofit changes meet operational and functional requirements in support of the overall program objectives
  • Lead cross-functional technical integration in support of resolving complex issues to help define the airplane, support ground and flight test of the protype airplane
  • Lead cross-functional integration and technical project management in support of the program
  • Lead detailed investigations to ensure system integration, compliance with requirements and to preclude safety issues
  • Lead and integrate the enhancement of business and enterprise tools and/or processes to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks
  • Communicate routinely with Internal and External Customers (peers, stakeholders, senior and executive leadership)
  • Mentor less experienced engineers for knowledge transfer and cross training, partner with leadership in identifying skill gap of the team and provide training to bridge the skill gap
  • Communicate frequently with Program and Engineering Leadership

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):  

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years’ experience performing complex engineering or integration work

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 

  • 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years’ experience with Boeing production systems
  • Experience in an engineering integration role
  • Passion to integrating across skills, functions, organization to accomplish project goal
  • Commercial aircraft design and/or analysis experience within product development, Flight Sciences, Airframe, Interiors, Propulsion, or System
  • Experience with certification, working with FAA regulations, and Regulatory Administration
  • Experience with commercial or military aircraft maintenance
  • Experience with leading major design changes through multiple phases of product and certification lifecycle
  • Project Management exposure / experience (e.g., Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI/PMI 99-001-2008)
  • Quick Learner, quickly understand complex technical concepts across multiple disciplines
  • Problem Solver, analyze and organize complex technical problems
  • Communicator, translate complex issues into cohesive, actionable components, with ability for individual contributor and executive communication
  • Experience working out of comfort zone, where process definition does not exist or is unclear
  • Experience with taking ownership/initiative, pulling teams together, establishing battle rhythm, and removing roadblocks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, adept at leading complex projects and influencing people across multiple organizations
  • Clearly communicate complex scenarios with diverse internal and external -personnel (peers, executive leadership, and suppliers)
  • Strong project and risk management skills/knowledge
  • Highly competent in systems thinking and analytical skills
  • Support domestic or international travel to support our program as required, although this is not typical

Typical Education/Experience: 

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for Associate level: $79,050 – $106,950

Summary pay range for Mid-Level level: $96,050 - $129,950
