The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge solutions that enhance the performance, reliability, and efficiency of JLR next generation charging system. 



You will be responsible for the project specific designs, change management and robust charging system mechanical development. You will also produce regular metrics for system engineering work products status, traceability and quality measures as well as contribute to failure mode analysis on time and in accordance with company processes and functional safety analysis on time and in accordance with company processes.

    

    

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and develop mechanical components for next generation of charging system in electric vehicles
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists to ensure seamless integration of the charging system
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and manufacturing processes
  • Conduct detailed analysis and simulations to optimize the thermal, structural, vibration and electrical performance of charging system
  • Collaborate with lead mechanical engineer and product owner and agree priorities and approve & sign-off engineering deliverables 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

 

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or working experience equivalent
  • Experience in mechanical design and integration, preferably in the automotive or electric vehicle industry
  • Working experience of CATIA for detail or packaging design (Other 3D CAD experience will be considered)
  • Transfer technical requirements into a design solution by applying a systematic approach
  • Electro- Mechanical knowledge
