Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Manager, Operations to join the FAL  based in Mobile, AL

The Manager, Operations is responsible for ensuring strict compliance with Airbus Safety standards on stations, along with delivering a completed Aircraft on time cost & quality as per flowline worksharing. Recommends & Implements changes in order to foster continuous improvement on stations with support of the Airbus Operating System, thus enabling the future ramp-ups.

Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your challenges:

  • Contains & monitors all safety events on station

  • Function as a role model to proactively deal with safety risks on station.

  • Focus on customer satisfaction ensuring strict FOD governance and securing customer stages.

  • Ensure fulfillment of legal and airworthiness requirements to ensure Operation, including demonstration of compliance for the maintenance of the POA.

  • Support the Analysis for the Cost of Non Quality data to identify root cause and eliminate human factor quality defects that occur in the manufacturing/assembly process, as quickly and as early as possible.

  • Leads the multi-functional teams at manager level to deliver on time through enhanced collaboration of all support functions in order to achieve on target internal quality gates and FOT with efficient Outstanding Work Management.

  • Lead and coach the employees and develop their Leadership skills. Establish expectations for high levels of flexibility in their respective areas and "multiple skills" requirements for the workforce.

  • Lead and maintain a high level of technical knowledge among the workforce in regard to mobility, turn-over and integration/development of new operators.

  • Manage departmental budgets/costs in accordance with AOP objective.

  • Support transformation and associated change management in the way of working such as Airbus Operating System implementation.

  • Function as a role model to foster Airbus values on a daily basis.

 

Your boarding pass:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Aviation, Business or a relevant field preferred.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in aviation manufacturing.

  • Experience in a multicultural work environment.

  • Experience in implementation of the Airbus Operating System or any Performance Management System.

  • French speaking would be a plus
