What you’ll need:
- Formal/Professional Education - A qualified solicitor/barrister in the UK with a minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience in a regional, national or international commercial law firm and/or in an in-house legal team (some in-house experience is highly preferable)
- Experience and qualities:
- The ability to draft and negotiate a range of commercial contracts and the confidence to work autonomously are essential
- Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills
- Ability to balance customer expectations and commercial demands against any legal and regulatory risks
- Enthusiasm and willingness to continuously learn and improve
- Ability to work in an international environment with exposure to diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Capacity to manage high workload: resilience and ability to work under pressure and a in a fast paced environment
- Must be able to prioritise tasks

What you’ll be doing:
- To work closely with the Legal Manager on the provision of a broad range of legal advice to a complex and fast-paced international business
- To manage autonomously the provision of timely and high-quality legal advice to a wide internal client base
- To work closely with other members of the legal team as well as stakeholders from business divisions and senior management
- To advise generally on commercial contracts and draft, review and negotiate a wide range of matters, for example:
- Supply of goods and services (general Ts and Cs, bespoke contracts)
- Engineering and construction (including standard form agreements)
- Logistics (transport and warehousing)
- Outsourcing contracts
- Collaboration/partnerships
- Grant offer letters and funding agreements
- Specific projects
- Intra-group agreements
- To work with internal and external lawyers on specialist areas (e.g. energy, environmental, financial regulations, data protection, intellectual property, cyber security, corporate transactions etc)
- To assist Corporate Governance, Sustainability, Communications and Compliance functions
- To supervise junior members of the team and co-operate with wider legal team on regional/global projects
- To work on developing new templates and internal procedures and provide legal training to the organisation
- To manage external legal advisors and control external spend
- To assist with management of the legal budget
- To provide legal support for ad hoc matters including third party claims, regulatory matters (including investigations) and litigation
- To support achievement of team objectives
- Ability to travel for business as required.
- You will enjoy a hybrid approach to office/home working that gives you the opportunity to develop relationships with your team and internal clients, managing your own diary in line with stakeholder meetings. You should be able to travel for business as required.
