The Senior System Engineer for Driver Information will join our Human Centric AD/ADAS group at Volvo Cars to take ownership and drive the development of the function scope which includes e.g. Road Sign Information, Driver Alert and Connected Safety Functions. The work contains tasks such as design, integrate, and verify the functions for a safe and personal driving experience. As part of the team, the primary objective of the role is to be a leader developing the functions through setting the product development objective on a team level in line with our strategic roadmap. The team delivery should ensure fulfillment of legal requirements, rating activities and safety standards. The product should be developed in a human-centric way by using data driven decision during improvement of our functionalities.
The successful candidate will work with one foot inside the team and one foot leading the team to success. You will contribute to the development, design, and Verification & Validation (V&V) of the function scope, plan and execute research when relevant, and ensure data-driven development and decision making.
What you'll do
Collaboration is key to this role, as the Senior System Engineer will work closely with Product owners, UX organization, software suppliers, and multiple Volvo Car Corporation (VCC) teams. You will lead and empower colleagues in their competency area while actively seeking opportunities to learn and develop yourself and others. You will be part of driving our teams vision forward, setting objectives and make sure those are aligned with our project plans and business goals.
We believe that you have:
• experience/knowledge in systemization and design of AD/ADAS functions.
• data analytics skills to make data-driven decision in product development.
• MSc education in engineering
• Strong communicative skills to align product needs and development steps with stakeholders.
• High ability to execute and solve problems together with others.
