Job Description

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Towanda on a full-time basis.

​​The Role:

  • As a Production Leader, you will have Supervisory responsibility for a medium/large group of employees in the implementation and execution of the established business process for an area in the production operations and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation.

What You’ll Do:

  • In this role, your work will be of a technical nature with decisions made within the limits of general practices, policies and standards. Your work will involve complex manufacturing problems including the need to troubleshoot and follow issues to resolve.
  • You will be responsible for equipment related to the manufacturing process. In this position your use of independent discernment required.
  • You will use substantial independent judgment in complex or unusual situations.
  • Your responsibility may involve training others and assigning work to a small group of employees.
  • As a Launch Lead, you will have supervisory responsibility for a medium/large group of salaried employees in the implementation and execution of the established business process for an area in the production operations and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). You will maintain awareness of quality standards, and communicate department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues. You will also build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management, and understand to consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
  • You will analyze and implement product or machinery designs for the best method for manufacturing processes
  • Develop and execute new process standardized work
  • Implement Opex initiatives
  • Manage 3rd party contracts - You will propose and evaluate the processes for equipment in assigned area - Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned area - You will provide technical support for specific plant operations - You will interact on a regular basis with design, product and manufacturing engineering staffs - Provide direction to engineering support group and vendors - You will evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipment - You will handle engineering projects with plants and/or Manufacturing Engineering Staffs.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in Kronos
  • Microsoft office suit, specifically excel.

  • Previous experience working in a union environment
