IT Technical Problem Manager H/F

Job Description:

A permanent opportunity has arisen for a “Problem Manager IT H/F” to join the team at our Airbus Defence and Space GEO offices in Toulouse, requiring the applicant to be able to be security cleared to a France Secret level.

You will join the GEO Intelligence IT Services team (TDTCB-TL2), reporting directly to the IT Operations Leader, you will act as a Problem Manager closely working with Airbus Defence and Space Information Management and GEO / Intelligence business teams.

You will be interfacing with other IT members and specialists in IT departments (Design, Product Management, Factory, Operations) as well as business Application support teams.

You will ensure, from ITIL point of view, that Problem are overall properly managed to guarantee smooth stabilisation for the whole System of Information delivering business value to our satellite imagery constellations. The IT environment is composed of Legacy and Private Cloud infrastructures to deliver the highest quality solutions on cutting edge technologies, supporting GEO Intelligence ground segment for earth observation constellations of satellites, Spot, Pléiades and Pléiades NEO.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

The problem manager is:

  • The named person from IT accountable of the proper usage of the process for Problem Management,

  • The single point of contact for the Problem Management process,

  • Carry on the Problem management process and best practices to stakeholders.

As a consequence, he’s in charge of:

  • Leading the Problem management Governance meetings and Committee,

  • Collecting issues sources of Problem cases,

  • Logging of Problem cases,

  • Reviewing and prioritizing proposed Problem cases

  • Assigning investigation to the most appropriate owner and organization,

  • Participating in the analysis of the root cause(s) and recommendation of corrective actions,

  • Reviewing the Problem Mgt process issues and recommending processes for corrective actions,

  • Managing communications on Governance decisions.

  • Preparing the Governance meetings and assure the necessary information is available,

  • Following-up of progresses on the Problem cases and the provision of guidance and support in case of issues or roadblocks,

  • Managing escalations at its level, providing guidance and decisions on issues,

  • Communicating on regularly basis to the IT Management, of a summary on the Problem cases going on and the Problem Management metrics.

  • Signing-off the closure of the Problem cases after validation of the elimination of the problem and its root cause(s),

  • Supervising the Problem Management activities (volumes, metrics and issues),

  • Coordinating the corrective actions,

  • Validating of the elimination of the root cause(s) after the implementation of the corrective actions,

  • Closing of the Problem cases,

  • Reporting on the Problem Management activities,

Qualification / Skills:

Master level (or equivalent) in Information Technology or a related discipline with a very strong background in Computer Science.

  • Strong background and knowledge in most of the following IT infrastructure

  • Operating system Windows and Linux (Windows 2012/2016, RHEL),

  • Infrastructure services Monitoring (Centreon, Grafana), Capacity management,

  • Virtualization: Servers (Vmware, Openstack),

  • Security and network infrastructures (VLAN, Firewall, SDN, IPAM)

  • Storage: Backup, SAN, NAS, Archive, Object,

  • Middleware Tomcat/Apache, IIS, Java, PostgreSQL, SQL Server

  • Container & orchestration : Kubernetes, Openshift

  • IAM : Authentication (Microsoft Active Directory) , Federation (RedHat SSO/Keycloack)

  • Private and Public cloud solutions (Openstack, GCP),

  • Devops tools : Ansible tower, Gitlab, Artifatory

  • Customer oriented mindset

  • Excellent knowledge of ITIL framework

  • Ability and willingness to work in Agile methodology

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Rigor, analysis and synthesis skills,

  • Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs

  • Language Skills : fluent in French and technical and conversation level in English
