Inbound Material Logistics Spend Analyst

Job Description

Work Arrangement:

  • This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren Technical Center three times per week, at minimum. 

  • This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

The Role:

This Inbound Material Logistics Spend Analyst will be responsible for developing analysis and projects focused on the spend of the inbound
material network. They will support the development of the forecast and budget, and analysis and review of cost improvements to the
network, and analysis and costing of logistics impacts to future program budgets through sourcing analysis.

The position will work cross functionally with Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics Operations Solutions, Logistics Purchasing, Direct &
Program Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Finance along with GM's outsourced LLPs and service providers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Creation of Inbound logistics annual budget

  • Creation for Monthly financial plan (Run@Rate) and forecasted threats

  • Management of weekly forecast validation supporting opportunities for cost reductions

  • Analysis for sourcing impacts to overall forecast & budget

  • Analysis projects for financial business reporting including understanding of actual and invoice processes

  • Working with a logistics service provider for better visibility to financial forecasting metrics

  • Analyze initiatives that generate cost improvements and reduce forecasted CPU

  • Collaborate with LLP on network deliverables for financial & cost impacts

  • Review launch budget to overall plan

  • Build positive relationships with LLPs and cross functional stakeholders primarily logistics finance team

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Strong working knowledge of Logistics and supply chains, including modes, routes, equipment, etc.

  • Experience with statistical analysis for operations management including KPIs

  • Knowledge of financial systems and cost drivers for logistics

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and deliver cost savings, and improve Logistics Networks

Skills:

  • Adept analytic capability in situations that are ambiguous and complex

  • High level of oral and written communications skills & Interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lead a project from start to finish, managing timelines and resources

  • Detail oriented and data driven

  • Process minded coupled with a process improvement Focused, with the ability to create new processes where required

  • Cross-functional relationship building

  • Comfortable with managing various priorities and dealing with ambiguity

  • Knowledge of specific GM processes:

    • GM Op Plan and LLP Forecast data for monthly analysis

    • GM Manufacturing schedules and volume reporting

    • GM Logistics Finance processes for Forecast, Budget, and Target creation.

    • GM Logistics Planning Business Case analysis for monthly forecasted impacts

    • GM BTAB Process and Implementation

    • Future Program sourcing and launch studies for Forecast/Budget

    • GM Purchasing Sourcing and bid implementation process for Forecast Analysis
