Job Description:
Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Flight Physicist Engineer (f/m) to join our [Aeromechanics and Performance Department] based in Marignane, France.
You will be part of a team of approximately 60 engineers in charge of the Aerodynamics, Aerothermal, Icing, Flight Mechanics, Performances and Flight loops (simulators) activities. As part of the Flight Mechanics group, you will be involved in all scientific and operational activities, including the preparation of test requests, the analyses, the simulations based on internal or commercial tools, the preparation of technical and certification documents, as well as the management of all necessary coordination actions aiming at guaranteeing the timely and quality delivery of the milestones for the various commercial and/or R&T programs for which you will be responsible

Your challenges:
- To identify activities required to de-risk the design of helicopters from a flight mechanics point of view
- Creation and/or supervision of the development of advanced flight mechanics models taking into account the main phenomena (trim, stability, controllability, firing and jettisoning,..)
- Definition of the minimum tests required to de-risk and evaluate the aeromechanical behavior of the helicopter or Vtol (laboratory tests, wind tunnel tests, flight tests), preparation of tests in collaboration with the test teams and others system responsible for, and analysis / extrapolation of the results
- To pull design changes with the different System Design Responsible to ensure a proper aeromechanics definition of the helicopter/Vtol
- Be responsible for planning and deliverables
- Implementation of transversal activities with other fields of engineering to ensure a robust multidisciplinary process
- Definition of certification plans and preparation of required documents
- Contribution to the development of methods and tools to secure the development of helicopters in a reduced time frame
- Development of multidisciplinary skills in the field of aeromechanics with a particular focus on aerodynamics, loads and performances
Your profile:
- High school or university diploma (Bac+5/Bachelor - Univ or equivalent, doctorate) in Aeromechanics or in a related disciplines
- You have skills in flight physics, Aeromechanics and Aerodynamics
- Familiar with aeronautics regulations (EASA, FAA)
- Skills in flight mechanics modeling and/or in experimental data analysis (flight test, wind tunnel test) would be appreciated
- Complementary skills in safety, loads and performance would be an asset
- Good knowledge of MS office tools and gsuite tools
- Autonomous and ready to take leadership, you have communication skills that facilitate teamwork with the various stakeholders (design office teams, flight tests, external customers), and you feel strongly empowered
- Ability to work on military programs
- Language skills:
- English level: intermediate level minimum
- French would be appreciated
