A vacancy for a “Finite Element and Stress Methods Engineer” (d/f/m) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in the Aerospace Mechanical Engineering. The successful applicant will join “TEPAP-TL4 – Stress Methods and Optimisation”.

Tasks

We are looking for people to strengthen our structural analysis team!

We are part of the Engineering – Aerospace Mechanical Engineering Organisation – and we support the Stress teams in the area of structure analysis, developing and maintaining Finite Element Models, the structure analysis methods and software tools (Stress and Fatigue), in all Aircraft development phases. Our goal/ Mission is to deliver high quality Structure Analysis and multidisciplinary Optimisation Software Tools.

If you already have relevant experience in structural analysis and FEM, we would be pleased to receive your application.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be airframe development, including structure analysis, Stress and Fatigue assessment and structure sizing. This comprises following non-exclusive tasks:

  • Linear and nonlinear structure analysis with the Finite Element Method (FEM)
  • Structure Strength and Damage Tolerance analysis and assessment
  • Structure Stability analysis and assessment
  • Structure integrity assessment

In addition, experience in the following fields will be valued:

  • Development and maintenance of methods in the field of Stress, Fatigue and Damage Tolerance
  • Software test and implementation of structure analysis and stress assessment methods

Qualification

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Completed studies in Structural engineering / Structural Mechanics
  • Some experience in conducting structure analysis with the finite element method
  • Some experience in the structure assessment (Stability, Stress, Fatigue and Damage Tolerance)
  • Programming skills also valuated: FORTRAN2003+, Python, C/C#/C++ or Visual Basic
  • Negotiation Level of Spanish
  • Advanced Level in English
  • Proactive and positive teamwork attitude
