The Export Compliance Manager oversees the implementation and adherence to an organization's export compliance policies and procedures to ensure that day-to-day operations meet regulatory and policy requirements. This position works under the direction of the Sr Dir Compliance and Trade Counsel and leads a team of two highly experienced professionals.

• Implements and enforces compliance policies and procedures across the organization.
• Provides guidance and support to employees on compliance-related issues.
• Ensures that all departments understand and follow compliance protocols.
• Develops compliance training programs for employees.
• Ensures compliance staff and other employees are up-to-date with regulatory changes and internal policies.
• Conducts regular training sessions and refreshers.
Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the company’s export compliance program.
- Work with senior business and functional leaders to ensure manufacturing footprint and other matters that could have an export control implication are learned as early as possible.
- Manage and monitor the implementation of the Technology Control Plan (TCP) at each Sensata facility and other export compliance related procedures and work instructions.
- Will serve as one of Sensata’s Empowered Officials (EO) (per 22CFR120.25).
- Prepare and/or oversee the preparation and submission of export licenses and agreements.
- Manage export compliance employees and oversee other functional employees with export compliance responsibilities.
- Perform internal audits and reviews on exports.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects relating to export controls.
- Provide support and guidance to the company on export compliance issues or questions.
- Identify and report to Sensata Global Trade Compliance (GTC) management any potential compliance violations and any incidents involving significant weaknesses in processes or procedures.
- Manage export controls training program.
- Work with other departments on strategic planning to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness in areas that involve export compliance.
- Maintain and assist with the implementation of export compliance procedures and work instructions.
- Review and validate export classifications of parts and materials; must have capability in the complex analyses inherent to military/aerospace export controls and be able to determine when further escalation is required to arrive at accurate determinations.
- Identify products for which Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) determinations or Commodity Classification Automated Tracking System (CCATS) requests would be appropriate and prepare the submissions.
- Support internal, external, and government-directed export compliance audits and assessments.
- Ensure all business sites have adequate export control processes in place and that such controls are functioning properly.
- Prepare routine updates and metrics on export operations and compliance for GTC and business management.
Job Requirements
- Advanced degree and/or legal training a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of export compliance experience.
- Detailed and extensive knowledge and experience of the ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations, including classification, licensing, reporting, and export program management. Experience applying for and managing activities under a Manufacturing License Agreement a plus.
- Managerial experience a plus.
- Up to 25% travel, primarily US and Mexico.

This position requires eligibility to obtain authorization under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Non-US Persons, as defined in the ITAR and EAR, may not be eligible to obtain authorization.
