In order to manage current and future projects, Airbus Helicopters is looking for you to join the team in Donauwörth as soon as possible as our new

Engineer for Test Means Operation & Maintenance (d/f/m).

The department "Digital Technologies for Means" provides efficient solutions and support for state-of-the-art engineering tools, simulation methods & techniques throughout the SW "V-Cycle" in development, particularly with regard to early validation, closed loop flight decks, test benches & helicopters, synergies of training measures and flight safety ready.

In this position you will provide support for simulation and test tool suites required for the validation & verification of Helicopter developments, mainly in the field of avionics used.

You are a focal point for users of the test systems used and are responsible for the availability and stability of the test tool used landscape to achieve high customer satisfaction. You will work in a young, quality and standard-oriented team.

You will also work with subcontractors who support the maintenance of the operational tools.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours (30) and an adapted scope of tasks. 

Your location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Taking over responsibility for the availability of the test systems

  • Monitoring of availability and services

  • Proactive resolution of detected errors

  • Investigation of root causes and coordination of test systems Support activities for avionics development

  • Team coordination of the test support team and contact person for subcontractors who support the test support area

  • Configuration Management in the frame of Test Support

  • Ensuring the correct application of diagnostics to avionics systems, test tools, including hardware and software, IT infrastructure, methods and processes

  • Elicitation of requirements, specification of functional requirements

  • Validation of the tool suite in its operational environment

  • Development of smaller tools for support activities in the area of ​​maintenance

  • Management of the diagnosis and solution of problems in the field of test systems for avionics

  • Installations of new tool suites

  • Proactive monitoring of the test systems used (hardware and software) and ensuring the implementation of the measures

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, aerospace engineering, avionics or similar

  • Several years of experience in engineering

  • Experience in project management and coordination of smaller projects

  • Experience in the area of support is an advantage

  • Knowledge of simulations, software tools and avionics

  • Confident handling of Windows and UNIX/Linux as well as MS Office and programming languages, including Python and C, C++

  • Language skills: Fluent in German and English
