Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Environment, Health, and Safety Organization is seeking a high performing Enterprise Environment Senior Manager. This role will lead the Enterprise Environment team.

The EHS Enterprise Environment Senior Manager will manage a high-functioning team of employees that develop, implement, and monitor Boeing company-wide environmental engineering programs and regulatory compliance, in collaboration with business partners like Global Enterprise Sustainability, Global Real Estate, Facilities, EHS Legal, Corporate Compliance, and various site operations. The position includes responsibility for interfacing regularly with company leadership, facilities and program stakeholders, legal and governmental advisors, and regulatory agencies. The senior manager will develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, set operational goals for the team, and acquire financial and technical resources.

Candidates applying for this position should be comfortable providing technical and project management of both Boeing employees and suppliers, as well as leading process improvement activities and utilizing cutting-edge methods for managing team workload and resources. The ability to develop and maintain positive and healthy relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports is a key attribute to being successful in this role. This role includes a significant level of mentoring, developing, and motivating direct reports.  It also includes interfacing regularly with business unit environmental managers and teams to provide support and ensure enterprise objectives are met.

This position allows the candidate to be based out of one of the following: Everett, WA; Auburn, WA; Renton, WA; Seattle, WA; Mesa, AZ; Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, MO; North Charleston, SC; El Segundo, CA; Long Beach, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; Seal Beach, CA; Plano, TX; San Antonio, TX; Huntsville, AL, or Ridley Park, PA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads employees and other resources in the development, implementation and monitoring of enterprise-level environmental management programs

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals

  • Establishes team goals, and drives continuous improvement

  • Leads environmental compliance efforts common to multiple business units and/or locations

  • Fosters relationship development with enterprise-wide environmental partners, including Global Enterprise Sustainability, Global Real Estate, Facilities and EHS Legal

  • Supports critical, non-standard regulatory and reporting requirements affecting the enterprise or multiple business units

  • Interfaces regularly with Legal, Government Operations, and Corporate Compliance staff on environmental compliance, risk management, and necessary reviews

  • Sponsors and supports resource and technical needs for incident investigations

  • Coordinates and supports annual long-range business planning efforts for Enterprise environmental program

  • Oversees administration of environmental risk management board activities Compliance Risk Management (CRM), Environmental Risk Management (ERM), and Risk Issues and Opportunities (RIO)

  • Administers environmental scorecard, plus facilitates performance metric development and standardization

  • Leads environmental management system integration across the enterprise, driving and supporting business unit Environmental Management System (EMS) adoption and utilization

  • Defines and establishes problem solving and escalation processes for resolving and preventing environmental disruptions

  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures, and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes

  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports

  • Develops and maintains a culture of seeking to understand, courage to speak up, active listening and servant leadership to manage, develop and motivate employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Travel to other sites may be required up to 25% of the time.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor degree or higher in engineering or a science related field

  • 5+ years of experience as a supervisor, or a manager

  • 5+ years of experience in environmental science/engineering, chemical engineering, policy analysis, or a related field

  • Experience in a role that required communications at an executive level

  • Experience demonstrating people management skills to include coaching, teaching, mentoring

  • Experience working with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions

  • Experience in influencing and building strong relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders across functions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master’s Degree in a science or engineering related field or Business Administration (MBA)

  • Certification in environmental or safety related field and/or professional engineering certification

  • 7+ years of experience in environmental, health, or safety related fields

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $141,100 - $190,900
