Engineering Manager

Major Accountabilities:

  1. Lead the recruitment process for the software engineering team, including identifying staffing needs, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions to attract top talent and build a diverse and high-performing team.
  2. Facilitate the onboarding process for new team members, ensuring they receive the necessary training, resources, and support to integrate smoothly into the team and contribute effectively to project deliverables.
  3. Allocate resources effectively across projects and initiatives, balancing workload and priorities to optimize team productivity, utilization, and project delivery timelines.
  4. Monitor project progress and resource availability, identifying potential bottlenecks or resource constraints and implementing proactive measures to address issues and maintain project momentum.
  5. Define performance goals and expectations for team members, providing regular feedback, coaching, and guidance to support their professional development and career growth.
  6. Implement initiatives to recognize and reward team members for their contributions, achievements, and milestones, fostering a culture of appreciation, motivation, and engagement within the team.

Authorities:

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between the software engineering team and stakeholders, including project sponsors, clients, and other internal and external partners, ensuring clear communication, alignment of expectations, and proactive resolution of issues or conflicts.
  2. Ensure team members are proficient in relevant tools and platforms, such as JIRA, Workday, Microsoft Teams, and other software development and collaboration tools, providing training, guidance, and support as needed to maximize team productivity and effectiveness in project execution.
  3. Provide coaching, mentoring, and career development support to team members, helping them set and achieve career goals, develop new skills, and overcome challenges or obstacles in their professional growth and advancement.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and objectives, and provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables, fostering transparency, trust, and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
