You will be working for the Safety Business Unit of Airbus Protect in Donauwörth as a Engineer Material & Process in the helicopter industry.

Your location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we support the development of helicopters from the initial idea through to the airworthy product. Using our expertise in cybersecurity, safety and sustainability is how we achieve this. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Processing of material obsolescences in an aeronautical environment 

  • Support in the implementation of REACH topics

  • Preliminary investigation, development and qualification of organic materials and processes

  • Supporting design, statics, manufacturing and maintenance with regard to issues relating to organic materials and processes

  • Creation of material specifications and manufacturing instructions

  • Identification and implementation of innovations and research projects

  • Processing production deviations, quality reports and incidents from flight operations

  • Identification and management of risks, opportunities for improvement and cost savings

  • Management of test campaigns, test reports and associated documentation

  • Processing and support in the area of material obsolescence

  • Implementation of new ways of working as digitalization progresses in the Airbus Group

Desired skills and qualifications
 

Technical Skills

  • You have a university degree in Chemistry or Aerospace Engineering or Material Science

  • Experience in engineering/knowledge of organic materials and associated testing methods in aerospace (especially polymers) would be a great advantage

  • Knowledge of polyreactions of resins and adhesives and the consolidation of thermoplastic materials would be welcome

  • Language skills: English business fluent, German basics

Soft Skills

  • You are target-oriented with analytic problem-solving skills.

  • You are willing to learn new things.

  • You are able to perform several Systems Safety tasks in parallel

  • You are a team player, organized and autonomous person with good communication skills.
