WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Come and join JLR as an Engine Validation Development Engineer.

 

You will be poised to play a pivotal role and be responsible for mechanical development, performance & functional verification and durability as part of the power unit design verification plan (DVP).

 

You will be instrumental in the delivery of power unit functional, durability & attribute validation testing, ensuring that this is safely executed, high quality data is produced, analysed with high integrity and the outcomes communicated effectively. We expect everyone within our organisation to have a focus on continuous improvement, refining our processes to more effectively deliver value. 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Principally responsible for delivery of power unit functional, durability and attribute validation testing, ensuring validation test activity is delivered on time and to the required data quality and delivery standards
  • Ensure test procedures are adhered to and operating conditions are respected to produce high-quality data while following correct health and safety procedures
  • Compile accurate technical reports for validation tests as evidence for component and system sign-off and communicate clearly to all stakeholders
  • Establish, maintain and communicate accurate test plans, that identify the timing and specific requirements of test facilities required
  • Support relevant technical reviews and issue resolution through established processes and standard JLR tools, ensuring appropriate escalation of issues for resolution as necessary

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Technical background with knowledge of propulsion components and systems
  • Ideally some experience in automotive component/system testing and data analysis
  • Understanding of automotive problem resolution and quality processes
  • Highly self-motivated and able to act on initiative and ability to communicate at all levels within the business
  • An aspiration to grow personally and technically
