Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airlines has an exciting opportunity for an Electronic Maintenance Technician to join our team in Portland, OR.

As an Oregon Manufacturing Plant Electrician with a Limited Journeyman (PJ) License, you would be responsible for applying your knowledge of electronics and mechanics to install, maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and rework electronic and/or electrical systems within the entire plant facility.

Position Responsibilities

  • Obtain work assignment from tie-in, job board, team leader or other accepted shop procedure.

  • Obtain and examine schematics, logic ladders, drawings, specifications, regulatory codes and other documentation for assigned job, as required.

  • Service, maintain, upgrade and modify equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions, determine if machine needs maintenance and if problem is mechanical, electrical or electronic and develop a plan to correct the identified problem, as required.

  • Wear and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with appropriate safety procedures and protocol (e.g., Lockout, Tag, Tryout , Confined Space, Fall Protection) (LOTTO).

  • Use various types of mechanical lifts (e.g., scissor lifts, elevated work platform, forklift) to access work area.

  • Disassemble/reassemble electronic components or subsystems to facilitate inspection or repairs on site or workbench, as required.

  • Remove, repair, replace or reprogram components, as needed. Send parts out for repair when necessary. Secure or order replacement parts or notify the lead that parts are needed, as required.

  • Using approved wiring methods, install, crimp, terminate and solder wire. Install, repair and replace conduit or raceways.

  • Use various types of computing systems or test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, meters, laser) to test accuracy of electronic components/systems or to determine calibration accuracy of machine.

  • Install upgraded or existing software and edit machine programs and parameters, as required.

  • Clean electronic components and computer controls, using appropriate equipment and solvents, as required.

  • Conduct follow up tests to ensure problem has been corrected; confer with operator, as required.

  • Create detailed documentation of jobs in-work and verbally tie-in next shift. Maintain required records, noting when job is complete.

  • Consult with co-workers, supervisors, team leaders, engineer and/or other crafts as necessary.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years electronic/electrical experience including related education in any of the following fields: machine tool maintenance, industrial electronic and/or electrical maintenance field, or military electronic/electrical system maintenance.

  • Must possess valid State of Oregon Electrical License at the Manufacturing Plant level or higher and/or the ability to reciprocate your state's license into Oregon.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience operating CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) machine tools

  • 1+ years experience troubleshooting and operating PLCs (programmable logic controls) preferably Siemens and Allen Bradley.
