Job Description:
A position as Electro-Magnetic Environment (EME) - Airframe Protection Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The successful applicant will join EME, Antenna Systems and Signatures SP department.
Tasks and accountabilities:
- Participate in the identification and definition of the Airframe Electro-Magnetic protection requirements and regulations applicable for each specific project.
- Create engineering design guideline documentation aimed to ensure the integration of adequate electromagnetic protection for Lightning Direct Effects (LDE), Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) and electrical bonding.
- Define the electrical bonding requirements to be considered during manufacturing and in-service.
- Support the Design Office on the definition of the protection solutions. Participate in design reviews (PDR, CDR…)
- Define and carry out the required tests (Lighting Direct Effects, Electro-Static Discharge…) for engineering purposes during development and/or for verification/certification (test sample definition, test plan, follow up of activities, support the test in case of external laboratories, test report…).
- Support the certification/qualification of the products (elaboration of certification documentation, negotiation and interface with Airworthiness Authorities…).
- Support the integration of Electro-Magnetic requirements on the supplied components and equipment (support definition of PTS, revision of qualification documentation…),
- Support manufacturing on the evaluation of deviations on electrical bonding and lightning protection.
- Support Services on the activities associated with in-services aircrafts (evaluation of events, support the definition of repairs, maintenance activities…).
- Continuous revision of state of the art solution for Airframe Electro-Magnetic protection.
- Propose and participate on R&D and R&T projects.
- Harmonize methods and tools with other divisions across the Company.
Knowledge and skills
- Degree in Engineering (Aeronautics, Electrical or Telecommunication) or Physics.
- Strong background in Airframe Electro-Magnetic protection (Lightning Direct Effects, Electro-Static Discharge…).
- Knowledge about integration at platform level (complete cycle: specification, validation, verification, certification/qualification).
- Good Technical skills on digital tools (Ms Office, CATIA, CST Studio Suite…).
- Ability to work on future projects oriented to DDMS (3DExperience)
- Ability to work autonomously as well as being active part of a team.
- Ability to overcome difficulties in the development of the projects.
