What you'll do
The Manufacturing & Supply Chain hub team looks after the data and analytics needs of business areas across M&SC, largely through engagement with teams embedded within business functions. The D&A Delivery team’s responsibility within the hub will be to deliver data and BI products following a prioritised backlog of use cases, and hand over to our business units to manage them.
Job Responsibilities:
Accelerate and support business area teams’ data maturity journey, delivering proof of value/proof of concepts, and guiding and supporting on the productionisation of data and BI products.
Under the guidance of the head of D&A Delivery, drive standards and best practice for the team in Chengdu to align with global team practices.
Serve as host manager for Chengdu, managing the resourcing and recruitment processes and providing pastoral care to the team.
Champion the vision and mission of D&A across M&SC and within Volvo Cars.
What you'll bring
You are an experienced data and analytics leader with experience managing data and BI engineering teams.
Deep understanding of how to build and run data products, with a proven track record of success.
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent English (and Chinese) communication skills.
Broad technical breadth including familiarity with data platform services.
Grow, inspire, and encourage a team of data and analytics professionals, encouraging talent and creativity whilst remaining focused on delivering business value.
You have a way with numbers, as well as a strong business sense, and ability to inform strategic business decisions.
You have a validated ability to influence decision-making at all levels within an organization, and in a variety of contexts.
You have got a strong intuition based on a broad range of experiences, but you take a critical mind even to your own ideas and are ready to be challenged by colleagues of all levels.
You are motivated by a burning desire for excellence but take a pragmatic approach to achieving your goals.
You have deep technical expertise in data engineering, with a desire to broaden that expertise into the other data and analytics technical disciplines.
