Connectivity Infotainment Validation Lead

Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as on-site. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Advanced Technical Center in Shanghai, China five times per week.

The Role -

Infotainment and Connectivity are integral parts of today’s vehicles, and our solutions help deliver advanced experience to our customers. Our team is responsible for the vehicle level validation of infotainment and connectivity solutions for the China market. In this position you will be responsible for the connectivity infotainment validation for China programs, helping to ensure successful launch of programs.

What You’ll Do -

  • Define the strategic planning for vehicle-level validation of Infotainment, responsible for validation strategy and implementation plans for benches/vehicles/road tests.
  • Responsible for evaluating criteria for feature functionality, performance, and scenario validation, forming corresponding test cases; organize team for hierarchical management of test cases, continuously optimizing to adapt to rapidly changing validation strategies.
  • Define and develop validation process for Infotainment-related activities, smoothly connecting upstream development and downstream quality, identifying process and organizational weaknesses and risks, and continuously implementing improvements.
  • Responsible for close communication with global and local project teams, reporting validation progress, identifying project risks, reporting and tracking project issues. Deliver validation results externally at key project milestones and take responsibility for results.
  • Lead execution of test procedures, arrange validation content and level per project needs, perform initial issue analysis, accurately document and track defects, actively support root cause analysis, and report to program team the latest status and defects.
  • Responsible for capacity building of Infotainment team, optimizing team structure in collaboration with department managers, continuously improving team efficiency to support complex and diverse project requirements. Lead the construction of validation toolchains within Infotainment scope, enhance team's validation efficiency and capabilities, and formulate appropriate upgrade, and maintenance plans based on business needs.
  • Lead automation strategy within Infotainment business, develop corresponding automation solutions based on characteristics of each function, closely collaborate with automation technical teams, organize internal automation scripting, implement and maintain automation projects continuously to increase departmental automation coverage.

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)​​ 

  • Bachelor or above of Computer Science & Engineering, Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 years’ experience in infotainment system development or validation is required.
  • Experience in smart phone/device development or validation is preferred.
  • Basic coding skills on automation scripts. Such as CAN bus message simulation, Python scripts.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas are preferred: vehicle cabinet infotainment, vehicle communication, navigation, software development, connected service, OTA.
