Aptiv is a leader in in-cabin sensing technology and a well-established supplier of sensing and computer hardware as well as software solutions. In this fast-growing and innovative technology area you would be working in an international team of computer vision and machine learning experts and software developers to shape the future of mobility with us.
In our team we design, develop, and validate systems to enhance the safety and comfort in the vehicle cabin. This includes the development of innovative software features and machine learning algorithms in driver state sensing, seat occupancy monitoring, child presence detection, or hand gesture recognition using 2D and 3D cameras as well as other interior sensing technologies. Driver state sensing plays an important role not only to prevent road accidents caused by drowsiness or distraction of the driver, but also in the context of higher levels of automated driving, e.g. hand over scenarios.
Your Role
In your daily job you will:
-
Developing advanced Computer Vision algorithms for automotive interior (in-cabin) sensing from early prototype to production grade solution
-
Relevant algorithmic problems include image pre-processing, camera calibration, 3D pose estimation from 2D images, and 3D scene reconstruction from multi view geometry.
-
Integrating Computer Vision modules with vision-based Machine Learning modules, and combining the outputs for specific applications
-
Writing high quality, tested and efficient software in C++ for our Interior Sensing SW Stack
-
Filing patent applications to strengthen the Aptiv IP footprint
-
Working in an Agile SW development team (SCRUM)
Your Background
Key ingredients for succeeding in the role are your:
-
Master's degree + 2 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree + 3 years of relevant experience in computer science or related field with specialization on Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning or Autonomous Systems
-
Strong theoretical and practical knowledge in image processing, computer vision, and multi-view geometry with relevant practical experience
-
Strong software development skills in Python. You have a passion for clean, well-tested, and documented code, following an ASPICE development process.
-
Practical experience with Linux, version control systems (e.g. Git, DVC), build systems (Make, CMake, Autotools) and code review tools (Gerrit, Gitlab, Bitbucket)
-
Fluent in English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills & good interpersonal skills
Nice to have:
-
Practical experience in using at least one common ML framework (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow)
-
Basic theoretical understanding of artificial intelligence, neural network architectures, model building and evaluation
