Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Space, Intelligence, and Weapon Systems Division, is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join our Double Eagle Program team in Las Cruces, NM. The SI&WS team works with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot/Maintain/Order COMSEC equipment
  • Utilize proper security and procedures when handling key material
  • Maintain physical security, access controls, and procedures
  • Maintain record of combinations and daily security checks
  • Manage inventory and accounting requirements
  • Conduct routine crypto destruction and creation of destruction report
  • Maintain records of COMSEC alternate personnel
  • Maintain 100% accountability for COMSEC material
  • Ensure account is in compliance with physical, COMSEC record keeping, and proper handling/storage of classified keying material

This position is expected to be fully onsite at Las Cruces, NM

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI clearance with an adjudicated CI Polygraph Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active. The position is contingent on clearance verification and customer concurrence.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams and/or projects formally or informally.
  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience working with aerospace vehicles and ground systems.
  • Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) training; certification in KMI is highly desired
  • 3-5 years experience as COMSEC custodian or member of a COMSEC A/B team, in corporate or government environment.
  • Security+ is preferred but not required.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Summary pay range:

Mid-level (level 3):  $90,050 – $123,050
