WHAT TO EXPECT

 

We are hiring for the position of Central Systems Integration Manager to join JLR in a role that will oversee the CSI team. In this role, you will be accountable for the maturation and delivery of customer features into current and future programmes to sign-off level in line with programme gateways. You will be working across multiple business functions, overseeing all cross-functional delivery steps to deliver features and co-ordinate their integration into vehicles and test assets. You will ensure that all elements of feature implementation happen in a timely manner, addressing and resolving any issues, threats, or cross-functional disconnects as they arise to ensure the overall plans succeed.

 

You will also be responsible for maintaining the Mainline Integration Plan (MIP) within the JIRA toolset, driving inputs and producing weekly integration reports. These will be presented by yourself to multiple stakeholders across the business to ensure functionality for vehicles and test properties are continually understood.

 

In summary, you will be the leader for the group programme, working with multiple teams to ensure a clear set of requirements for the software is met and then planned for integration points on multiple vehicle programmes to the right maturity level, from making sure it is enough to make the function/feature work, all the way through to sign-off to the customer

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is ensuring consistent and efficient delivery of vehicle features and systems across programmes, identifying and removing any roadblocks that may prevent success

  • Engage Domains and Tech Centre delivery areas to understand feature delivery timelines, assist and lead system owners with delivery issues, drive resolution of critical issues affecting function quality and/or introduction date to achieve sign-off of all features

  • Manage a team of feature integration engineers providing coaching and leadership to forward their development

  • Maintain the Mainline Integration Plan (MIP) in the JIRA tool, prepare reports and gateway sign-off papers for feature completion, provide briefing packs for Engineering VIP drives

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

As this role is a managerial position, you will need to have demonstratable evidence of your experience within Software and/or Electronics Systems Engineering at a senior level, ideally as a team leader. Experience within the automotive industry is preferred also due to the nature of the role requirements

  • Significant & relevant experience of working in an end-to-end automotive Software / Electronics Systems Engineering design & delivery environment

  • Thorough understanding of the Software / Electronics Systems Design Life Cycle - system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design reviews, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance

  • Experience in leading / supporting teams of people to successfully achieve project objectives

  • High levels of motivation, energy and direction will be required to bring teams together and work to find solutions under pressure
