Job Description:

A vacancy for a Manufacturing Engineering Services Category Buyer has arisen within Airbus  in Getafe.

Dimensions:

  • You will join the sub-commodity Manufacturing Engineering Services procurement with a main focus on Airbus Commercial in Spain and Airbus Defence & Space.

  • The procurement volume of the sub-commodity is ~ 385M€/ year and for ~40M €/ year

  • You will have a large number of interfaces including major multi-national suppliers and Airbus plants and FALs , Supply Chain, Central Manufacturing Engineering and Legal teams.

  • The position will be located in Getafe, with travels for suppliers and team  meetings

          

Main activities

The job holder manages trans-national and / or trans-divisional sourcing projects. 

As category Buyer the jobholder acts as focal point for the commodity leader, and shall:

  • Is part of the Multifunctional/Multidivisional teams all along the tendering, contracting and contract life cycle phases with a trans-national and trans-divisional approach taking into account the worldwide perimeter of the entire Group

  • Establish and maintain detailed procurement project planning, in line with the overall business project plan, including organizing and controlling all procurement actions.

  • Lead the sourcing activity, manage the tendering and the contract negotiation to achieve the best purchasing conditions in accordance with Company requirements.

  • Negotiate, establish and implement national & trans-national frame contracts. You will commit the Company by achieving the signature of contractual agreements

  • Manage contracts with contract reviews with Airbus’ internal customers and suppliers, evaluate and improve suppliers’ performance in terms of time, costs and quality and ensure contractual agreements are up-to-date and compliant with the Procurement Policies.

  • Identify risks, define mitigating actions, and ensure implementation of such actions in due time when necessary.

  • Contribute to business case development (incl. validation of procurement baseline) and ensure savings reporting in line with the requirement of Airbus Group and / or divisional savings programs.

  • Contribute to Airbus Manufacturing Engineering Services competitiveness, initiating cost reductions plan and execute cost reduction campaigns in close cooperation with the Multi-Functional Team.  

  • Provide rules and process information to Business Operations to ensure correct execution of transactional procurement activities to full customer satisfaction.

  • Drive compliant Airbus General Procurement processes

  • Implements & ensures application of the Manufacturing Engineering Services Procurement Strategy and in accordance with processes.

  • Monitor the contracts with suppliers to achieve a complete application of terms and conditions to ensure suppliers deliver expected performance in all dimensions (Logistics, support, quality, cost...)

  • Manage the day to day professional and trusting relationships with suppliers and running projects to optimize Airbus value, while minimizing total cost of ownership, risks and uphold the Company ethics and compliance standards in all your dealings

  • Deliver in a dynamic environment and engaging team atmosphere where trust is a key cornerstone

Candidate Personal profile

  • Educational Qualification:

    • Business school or engineering graduate 

    • Languages: Spanish and English (negotiation level), German & French (of advantage, but not mandatory)

  • Professional skills:

    • Project leadership skills to engage multi-functions teams

    • Effective contract and international negotiator with proven commercial and contractual background and legal awareness.

    • Business analytical skills (business case studies, TCO approach)

    • Demonstrated experience of activity with multiple stakeholders environment

  • Professional Experience:

    • 5-10 years of experience

    • Experience in supplier relationship Management and Procurement, or other equivalent experience in managing outside stakeholders.

    • Experience in commercial/contracting negotiations (preferably Procurement or Sales) 

  • Behavioural skills:

    • Teamwork and transparency

    • Strong adherence to ethics & compliance 

    • Customer focused and solution oriented

    • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
