Aviation Maintenance Team Leader

We are currently seeking multiple highly skilled and experienced Aviation Maintenance Team Leaders to join our growing team. This position is similar to the U.S. Marine Corps Fixed-Wing Aircraft Airframe Mechanic (MOS 6256) and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in aircraft maintenance and additional experience as an Aviation Maintenance Controller and/or Supervisor. However, we are open to those with experience from other military branches (MOS Compatibility: USMC:62XX USA: 15X USAF:2A5XX USN:AD).Summary

Purpose of the position

Supervise and lead a team to complete the tasked maintenance and issue the Release to Service (RTS) for depth maintenance checks on the C-130 aircraft, in a safe and efficient manner to meet targets across Quality, Safety, Delivery, Cost and People.

Accountability

  • Accountable for the safe, compliant, efficient, timely delivery of the aircraft under their control and for the safety, efficiency, development of their team.
  • Supports the wider MRO Delivery Team across the hangar operation to ensure overall adherence to priorities and targets
  • Drives productivity and efficiency improvements across team and wider business and supports, develops and engages with Continuous Improvement activities
  • Supports the MRO Delivery Manager and other Technician crew chiefs to achieve targets at a Hanger level

Your responsibilities in this role:

Aircraft Maintenance and Repair:

  • Supervise the technical team in your bay, from a safety, quality and align with the planning team on task allocation.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on various aircraft systems, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and avionic issues.

Maintenance Control and supervision:

  • Utilize experience as a Maintenance Controller to coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate maintenance efforts with the team of maintenance technicians and mechanics.
  • Interface with pilots, ground crews, and other departments to facilitate efficient and effective maintenance operations.

Technical Expertise:

  • Apply extensive knowledge and expertise in aviation systems to conduct repairs and modifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

Inspections and Documentation:

  • Conduct thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections, documenting all maintenance activities accurately.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with a team of skilled mechanics, engineers, and support staff to achieve optimal maintenance operations.

Safety:

  • Uphold a strong safety culture within the organization, adhering to safety protocols and promoting a safe working environment.

Apply if you have most of the following:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an Aviation Mechanic, with expertise similar to MOS 6256.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Controller / supervisor / crew chief demonstrating the ability to prioritize and coordinate maintenance tasks and allocation of work tasks.
  • In-depth knowledge of the C-130 family of aircraft systems, including engines, avionics, and airframes.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with aviation maintenance software and documentation systems, such as Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information Systems (OOMA/NALCOMIS).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work. They must also possess a detailed, working knowledge of Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information Systems (NALCOMIS), Relational Supply (R-Supply) and all NAMP and processes governed by DoD references.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Can do, productivity and customer focused mindset.

It would be great if you have:

  • Additional certifications in specialized areas of aviation maintenance.
  • A willingness to be trained and/or certified in special skills.
  • Previous military experience, especially in MOS 6256 and Maintenance Controller with the Safe for Flight certification.
