We are currently looking for a Automotive CMF Design Intern to join our team in San Diego, CA.
Design all aspects of color, surface and material associated with Nissan and Infiniti automotive design projects and present this information in various formats.
A Day in the Life:
- Research design trends, especially automotive related, current technology and the cultural/sociological impact on future color.
- Gather and communicate trend information to Nissan facilities regarding color design activities using trend and image boards, display boxes or PowerPoint presentations.
- Create and propose unique color and materials concepts for the target customer. Develop color design strategies which express the overall concept of the vehicle.
- Collaborate with materials suppliers to create custom materials for future projects.
- Become familiar with Nissan production processes as it relates to color and material design. Communicate with Engineers, Suppliers and Product Planning.
Who We’re Looking for:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transportation or Industrial Design or a related field
- Graduating after completion of the internship
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Insight, creativity and resourcefulness
- High energy, flexibility, perseverance
- Great color evaluation capabilities and presentation skills
- Art degree with an interest in sociology and culture
- Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, Excel, V-Red
- Portfolio submission required
