ATR – Electrical Systems - Electrical Power Specialist (M/F))

Job Description:

As the world’s number one regional aircraft manufacturer, and the most eco-responsible commercial aircraft, ATR places in a sustainable and modern way with the ambition to push for technological breakthroughs in many domains including the whole Electrical Systems and New Electric Hybrid Propulsion Systems studies.

Within ATR Engineering Directorate, in the Electrical Systems Department, you are responsible for the follow-up and development of Electrical Systems on ATR42 and ATR72 program.

The perimeter of Electrical Systems Department team in ATR Engineering is:

  • ATA20 - Electrical Standard Practices & Electromagnetic Environment Protection
  • ATA24 - Electrical Power Generation & Distribution & Energy
  • ATA31 - Cockpit Integrated Control Panels & Cabin Management Systems
  • ATA33 - Aircraft lighting
  • ATA44 - Cabin Systems
  • ATA80 - Engine Electrical Starting
  • New Electric Hybrid Propulsion Systems studies

ACTIVITIES

You are responsible for the follow-up and development of Electrical Systems for your perimeter of activities, in particular on Electrical Power (ATA 24 & 80) topics :

  • Lead Electrical Systems Modifications/Projects and studies in compliance with applicable technical design directives and certification rules (FAR/JAR/CS25, CRIs, IPs,…)
  • Conduct Electrical Systems Simulation & Modeling
  • Ensure technology and regulation watch, Participate on research programs
  • Specify, develop and integrate Systems and Equipment
  • Release specifications and Statements of Work, participate in supplier selection, conduct progress  meetings, and monitor the development and adjustment of the concerned aircraft-installed Systems
  • Release Certification Program and develop the Means of Compliance documents required for certification
  • Verify ATR and Vendor Service Bulletins,
  • Support the production line in the production phase and during flight tests and delivery, in the event of problems (assembly anomalies, troubleshooting, concessions, repairs)
  • Manage technical relations with the two global partners/suppliers LEONARDO (fuselage and tail) and AIRBUS (wings) and all other equipment suppliers
  • Provide flight authorization outside the approved definition (NTO, TA, FC), Draft airline information documents (SIL).
  • For aircraft events, contribute to identify the root causes and to provide expertise on parts found to be defective. If required, suggest adapted preventive/corrective solutions as well as applicable procedures
  • Analyze in-service occurrences and evaluate the need for reporting
  • Technical support to ICAO Annex 13 investigations

PROFILE

Expected skills:

  • Engineering degree from Aeronautical or Electrical school (or equivalent)
  • Good experience (>5 years) in the Electrical Systems perimeter
  • Good knowledge of A/C regulations (JAR/CS/FAR 25, Part 21,…), development processes, V&V and Electrical standards (RTCA / EUROCAE / SAE ARPs)
  • General knowledge of Aircraft Systems and associated disciplines (handling qualities, performance, structure…)
  • General knowledge of production, support, procurement, activities within an aircraft manufacturer
  • Languages : Good level in English & French
  • Experience of Electrical Systems Simulation & Modeling
  • Good relationship skills, ability to communicate with various stakeholders (external: Authorities, Partners, Suppliers, Customers; internal: Production, Quality, Procurement, Program, Customer Support) and in a multi-cultural environment
  • knowledge in Project Management

This role may involve some worldwide travels for business– typically once a month.

Possible on call duties during week-ends and/or holidays seasons.
