Mission :
Within the Engineering Directorate, you will integrate the Flight Technologies department. In a small and dynamic team of engineers, a strong teamwork is requested to answer to the various challenges around aerodynamics evaluation for ATR products. The global objective is to support the production and in-service life of the ATR aircraft, to provide the aerodynamics contribution to the current developments but also to the preparation of ATR product evolution towards a greener and more efficient aircraft.
All this takes place in an environment continuously challenging your autonomy and adaptability, and your innovative spirit on how to continuously conciliate available means, current expectations and history of the ATR design
As an aerodynamics engineer, you will work on various topics of ATR, including analysis of the fine aerodynamic of the mechanical flight controls and of the effect of the propeller stream on the whole aerodynamics.
Your main activities will be :
- Perform CFD analysis in the context of a development (modification) and provide aerodata to the Handling Qualities models or loads teams.
- Manage the subcontractor in order to respect the costs and schedules, validate the productions and check the quality of aerodynamics analysis
- Provide aerodynamic evaluation in order to approve some concession in productions and some repairs in service, and assess their impact on global aerodynamic coefficients of the aircraft.
- Support development by proposing aerodevices being able to design and validate their aerodynamic effet.
- Support Wind Tunel Tests or Flight Tests if conduced on certain programs
- Develop and improve methods and in-house tools around CFD computation
Profile:
- Master’s degree or engineering diploma in aeronautics.
- Experience of at least 10 years in the domain of the aerodynamics
- Advanced knowledge in CFD analysis
- Basic knowledge in analytical and semi-empirical methods
- Basic general knowledge of aircraft design
- Basic knowledge in flight in icing conditions
- Willingness to work with several disciplines, to be collaborative
- Curiosity, willingness to grow and learn every day
- Ability to adapt
- Ability to present technical results and to convince
- Fluent English,
- French at least moderate, fluent is a plus
- Programming skills in Python
- Pilot license would be a plus.
