MG Cannon Dorchester, powered by Steer Automotive, is seeking a talented Assistant Manager to help oversee the daily operations of our bodyshop and support the team in delivering exceptional service and quality repairs.

About the Role:

As the Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the Bodyshop Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the workshop. Key responsibilities include:

  • Team Management: Assist in managing the team and oversee day-to-day operations of the bodyshop.
  • Job Allocation: Set up job cards, assign tasks to productive staff, and ensure workflow is maximised.
  • Quality Control: Oversee health and safety practices and carry out regular quality checks.
  • Customer and Insurer Liaison: Communicate with customers, insurers, and work providers to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, update job cards, and ensure clear communication across all departments.

About You:

We are looking for someone with a background in supervisory roles within an accident repair bodyshop and strong interpersonal skills. You should have:

  • Leadership Skills: Experience in managing teams and ensuring high levels of customer care.
  • Organisational Abilities: Proven ability to plan workloads, meet deadlines, and work to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Attention to Detail: Commitment to maintaining high standards of work in line with manufacturers' specifications.
  • Team Player: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a flexible approach to tasks.
