Application Project Lead

What will your responsibilities be?
- Develops project plans and manages small to mid-size projects without support from the PMO.
- Manages assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and project scope.
- Manages project risks through assessment, identification, and mitigation of potential risks.
- Partners with Business and Project Managers to ensure a successful change management process.
- Develops comprehensive User Acceptance Testing Plan with use case scenarios so that the requirements and test cases are unambiguous, aligned, consistent, and not in contradiction with each other. Documents all test results and partners with developers for test resolution efforts.
- Performs release management activities to promote application changes into production.
- Demonstrates strong Change Management Skills.
- Participates in production and/or system launches with IT and business resources to ensure production environment is done accurately.
- Quickly analyzes whether system launch was successful and identifies production-related issues with stakeholders.
- Leads internal project status meetings, identifying action items and documenting appropriately.
- Works on multiple projects as a Project Lead and at times leads and/or executes small application enhancements activities.
- Manages resource assignment and/or prioritization of operation project tasks.
- Communicates with team, contractors, third-party vendors, stakeholders to ensure successful completion of the project.
- Works closely with IT Project Managers and the project team members to identify application support requirements and ensure smooth transition of development projects to HRIT DevOps support teams.
- Works collaboratively within a delivery team at all levels including stakeholder management, with considerate ability to take ownership of tasks and complete them with minimal direct supervision.
- Works with IT Purchasing to issue RFI, RFP, RFQ techniques to identify, select, and engage with vendors to ensure competitive market advantage.
- Works closely with the Global HR BRM and HR business partners to roadmap business capabilities to IT capabilities to identify opportunities for delivering technology solutions that will enable the organization.
- Possesses HR system knowledge, preferably Workday, to effectively manage and support HRIT projects.
Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline.
- At least 6 years of functional experience in Business Analysis or related field.
- At least 3 years of project management experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated fluency in business processes and process differentiation.
- Advanced training on elicitation and elaboration of requirements from a verified source.
- Business Analysis certification or PMP certification is a plus.
- Experience with HR, Benefits, Health & Safety, Payroll or T&A systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) preferred.
- Knowledge of industry testing tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps or similar).
- Strong interpersonal skills and understanding of cultural differences and ability to impact across cultures.
- Speak English fluently and strong written skills in English.
- Excellent business communication and change management skills and ability to work with those who use English as a primary or secondary language.
- Strong and presentation skills with the ability to present technical matters in a simple, clear and concise manner to the targeted audience.
- Thinks creatively, conceptually and analytically and considers the wider consequences of each decision.
