Aircraft Doors Structure F&DT Engineers (d/f/m)

Join our Wide Body doors design team and you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of passenger and cargo doors, contributing to new developments like the A350F and to the support of the fleet in-service and of all the Airbus production lines.
Our team is in charge of developing innovative door designs and solutions for all Airbus WB Programmes (A300/A310, A330, A340, A350, A380, Beluga).

We create value for our customers by taking full advantage of our end-to-end responsibility for the doors design and integration, covering the architecture, integration, design, stress, qualification, and testing of our products. 

We are also responsible for the technical management of our Risk Sharing Partners and Suppliers, as well as for the support of our production lines.

Our flat hierarchy enables quick decisions, always in accordance with safety, Customer orientation, reliability, respect, creativity and integrity.

These roles are also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the production of safe F&DT design in line with state-of-the-art technologies and in an efficient and effective manner

  • You ensure adherence to processes, methods and tools in your perimeter

  • You do the creation, review and release of justification reports, interface load calculation and safe mastery of GFEM/DFEM models

  • You calculate and verify metal components and assemblies by using FE/CAE tools such as HYPERWORKS/NASTRAN, ISAMI or analytical verification methods

  • You evaluate the various constructive solution options, taking into account all relevant aspects regarding F&DT (e.g. weight, costs for development, manufacturing and in service) while ensuring the highest level of safety

  • You manage interfaces with stakeholders such as Chief Engineers, Airworthiness Department and Program Managers

  • You harmonize the way of working within the team

Desired skills and qualifications

  • You hold a degree in Aircraft Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • You have minimum 3 years of professional experience in F&DT engineering 

  • You are experienced in structure engineering development 

  • Ideally, you could already gain experience or knowledge with the aircraft development, manufacturing and certification process as well as tools like CATIA v5 and PASS SSI PLM 

  • You have good knowledge in common stress analysis software (Hyperworks, Nastran, ISAMI, etc.) and Handbook Methods (HSB, Niu, Bruhn)

  • You have solid knowledge of stress and FDT analysis of lightweight structure

  • Knowledge in static stress, composites and Python programming would be a plus

  • You could already proof good presentation skills and like taking ownership

  • You are motivated to work with a wide range of Stakeholders across the business and transnationally

  • Your English is on negotiation level, German would be a plus
