Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer - New Line Project to join our A320 Engineering department based in Mobile, AL.

Support the manufacturing engineering strategy, processes and method. Responsible for deploying, maintaining and supporting reliable, efficient and integrated production solutions to Operations, in order to enable industrial excellence and contribute to the Company’s profitability and competitiveness. It includes solutions for the Manufacturing Engineering Work Preparation, Line Balancing, Technical Shop floor Support.

Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to improve its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your challenges:

  • Manage Technical Support required for the Project.
  • Represent the ME Department for the Project
  • Reporting for Projects Deliverables to Project Management
  • Coordinate and attend meetings as required
  • Make decisions on technical and scheduling/priority questions with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Interface with Project Works Stream Leader
  • Support the implementation in integration of new initiatives in the new Line
  • Create Work specification for Sub-contracted activities
  • Secure relationship with A320 Competitiveness group
  • Develop and maintain KPI (Key Performance Indicators) to supervise the activity
  • Benchmark, identify and implement good practices from the others Dpt within worldwide Airbus
  • Support the deployment of the AOS (Airbus Operating System)
  • Support the Mobile Programme Organization Manual (A10-AAL)
  • Ensure the implementation of Audit-Plan
  • Delegate for Head Of as required.
  • Attend meetings for Head Of based on subject

Your boarding pass:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree plus 2 years of Manufacturing Engineering Experience or 5 years industry experience, or Non-degree holder with 5 years of Airbus engineering experience or 7 years of industry engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of main aircraft components and their functions
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and tools used in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and quality system management.
  • Knowledge about non-conformities and design query notes.
  • Knowledge about aircraft systems (structure, hydraulic, electric, mechanic).
  • Knowledge of rules for aircraft design and manufacturing.
