Job Description

Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our IC, DoD, and civilian customers.

The Modeling and Simulation Computing Department (MSCD) consists of a team dedicated to ground-breaking software solutions and capabilities for government and commercial customer needs.  The software we develop enables detailed and complex modeling, analysis, optimization, and visualization of satellite orbits, system architectures, and engineering trade-spaces to provide customer decision support for the future of space.

Work Model:

Hybrid: This position will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with some onsite work required in Chantilly, VA, El Segundo, CA, Colorado Springs, CO or Albuquerque, NM

  

What You'll Be Doing: 

  • Apply modern software development techniques and best practices to perform modeling and simulation tool development in sub-division focus areas 
  • Partner with sub-division analysts, multi-disciplinary technical leaders, Aerospace Program Office personnel, and external customers to define and address customer needs
  • Develop and present timely and technically accurate briefings and reports with assistance from senior staff members
  • Engage with software users and customers to refine capability requirements
  • Proactively engage with management and colleagues to develop technical maturity for independent contributions
  • Apply modern development practices in areas including analysis workflow automation, rapid prototyping, high performance computing, cloud computing, and containerization
  • Occasional travel to support customer efforts

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering mathematics, or a related field from an accredited school (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)  
  • Experience in technical writing and technical presentation
  • Proficiency in one of the following programming languages: Python, C/C++, Java, MATLAB, or other object-oriented language
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Transcripts required for this position

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Experience working as a member of a technical team
  • Experience with high-performance computing, cloud computing, and/or containerization
  • Experience in modern software development, integration, and testing practices 
  • Experience with development for Windows and Linux platforms
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.  The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.  Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
