Summary
Aptiv's Advanced Safety group pioneered the sensors, software, and systems that empower Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Warning, Emergency Brake Assist, and Lane Keeping systems widely available to consumers today; and we continue to stretch the technology envelope with 360-degree sensing and advanced algorithms piloting automated vehicles.
Major Accountabilities:
Utilize CAD software to create detailed design models, drawings, and specifications for mechanical components and systems used in hardware and product engineering projects.
Conduct DFMEA to identify and mitigate potential failure modes and risks associated with mechanical designs, ensuring the reliability and safety of hardware and product engineering solutions.
Apply prototyping techniques and methodologies to develop physical prototypes of mechanical components and systems, facilitating design validation and testing.
Major Accountabilities:
Identify and select appropriate mechanical components for hardware and product engineering projects.
Design and optimize thermal management systems to ensure proper heat dissipation and thermal performance of mechanical components.
Perform structural analysis to evaluate the strength, durability, and integrity of mechanical structures and components.
Use analytical methods and finite element analysis (FEA) tools to assess structural performance.
