Wiring Systems Engineer. Troy, MI. Interface with customer engineers to establish vehicle electrical requirements. Translate customer requirements into design information for Aptiv internal use. Support electrical system build laboratory events at customer sites. Troubleshoot systems issues at customer sites. Support cost reduction initiatives. Work with designers to incorporate electrical design information into 3D files. Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements. Use CAE software to complete CAE testing of harness designs per customer specifications. Work with DREs to ensure accurate information between ECAD and MCAD data. Requires Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or closely related field and two years of experience as a Wiring Systems Engineer in the automotive industry. Experience must include: designing electrical power distribution systems, creating and maintaining electrical system-level DFMEA/DVP&R, supporting electrical wire harness functions, establishing electrical system component requirements, and use of Zuken or Capital. Position requires up to 10% travel to domestic customer sites and Aptiv manufacturing sites in Mexico.
