Technical Program Manager

As a technical program manager, you will take End-to-End ownership of the development and productization of a group of product offerings within our cloud-native DevOps platform and middleware. You will also contribute to the Aptiv software product portfolio within the Global Product. This is a new product organization Aptiv has launched and you will be at the forefront of industry transformation with cutting-edge technology, paving the way for the customer delivery of software defined vehicle solutions.

The technical program manager is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing the collaboration between product management, technical sales, marketing and engineering (product owners, architects and engineering managers).

Your role:

  • Collaborate with Product Managers to refine the product roadmap and support in estimations, prioritizations and evaluating technical feasibilities while aligning  with the needed engineering stakeholders

  • Drive the continuous planning of the engineering scope to implement the product roadmap, decomposing roadmap items (Capabilities) into Features and Stories, following a tailored SAFe framework including the needed planning ceremonies (e.g. Big Room Planning)

  • Monitor the engineering execution within the program increment by installing the needed agile metrics and performing the needed alignment ceremonies (e.g. PO Sync, Scrum of Scrums, etc.)

  • Maintain a real time reporting system and use it to report to stakeholders at various levels (from engineering teams till the senior executives)

  • Own and maintain a risk register and perform the typical risk management activities including needed escalations

  • Drive the release management process for the owned product offerings and collaborate with Architects, DevOps and IT in order to build and maintain release pipelines following CI/CD principles and align with  the master product release

  • Own and manage the program interface to customer series projects including schedule and scope/deliverables

  • Support in the customer quote generation process including scoping, schedules and effort/cost estimation

  • Act as a quality gate keeper for your area of responsibility and ensure process compliance (e.g. ASPICE, ISO26262, ISO21434) including generating and maintaining needed program level documentation

  • Act as the first interface of the engineering team to internal stakeholders, align the development cycle and delivery schedules for company-wide system integration and release

  • Roll up sleeves and play  where needed a range of roles for the product offerings under your responsibility,  including  requirement management, problem management, configuration management and scrum master/coordinator

Your background 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in technical program or project management, ideally with multiple delivered software projects in relevant applications

  • Experience with software development and project management methodologies, including waterfall, agile, scrum, extreme programming, Kanban, and SAFe

  • Experience developing processes and methodologies to suit specific engineering workflows and managing the needed cultural change

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management

  • All-hands-on-deck approach with a strategic vision including excellent communication / presentation skills

  • High degree of ownership, commitment, proactiveness, and flexibility

  • Hands-on experience in requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS/POLARION), issue management systems (JIRA) and workspace tools (e.g. Confluence)

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and the ability/willingness to use them as needed to evaluate the status at various software product lifecycle stages (e.g. IDE, GIT, Jenkins, Google Test, JFROG, …)

  • Familiarity with Cloud-native technologies, DevOps, CI/CD, Service Oriented Architecture, POSIX-based embedded systems including virtualization, FUSI (ISO26262) and ASPICE

Nice to have:

  • Domain expertise in automotive and automotive functional safety requirements (ASPICE, ISO 26262)

  • Extensive understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and POSIX-based embedded systems

  • Familiarity with various communication protocols (DDS, SOME/IP, CAN, Ethernet), over-the-air-updates (OTA), and cybersecurity concepts
