Your Team
The Studio Integration team is central to engineering new products and bringing concepts to life at Tesla. We collaborate across all aspects of styling, engineering, and manufacturing to deliver an exceptional product design and customer experience. Your Role
Engineers on the Studio Integration team consolidate engineering, regulatory, manufacturing, and tooling inputs to support styling and design development. This extends from the initial concept stage, through detail design and into product launch. We must continue to balance and optimize our strategy as inputs change and evolve. We will create prototype mock-ups that are then reviewed by stakeholders to ensure customer and company goals are achieved. Our expertise is to converge inputs from design and engineering, blending highly integrated engineering concepts into styling themes.
What You’ll Do
- Consolidate and document styling, engineering, manufacturing, and other criteria
- Develop feasible concept requirements that align to input requirements or balance them
- Use engineering first principles to identify and propose engineering solutions to complex cross-functional problem
- Create master package sections to document criteria and communicate requirements to stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross functional teams and come up with innovative solutions to support studio data integration
- Coordinate the timing and prioritization of issue resolution and feasibility convergence to meet product development timing requirements
- Build positive team culture and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams
- Provide leadership to a team of talented mechanical design engineers to support in timing, prioritization, and technical guidance
What You’ll Bring
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and a robust first-principals approach
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a product development and innovative environment
- Design experience with knowledge of manufacturing technologies, limitations and opportunities for sheet metal, injection molding etc.
- Outstanding design, packaging, and 3D modeling skills. (CATIA/3DX is an advantage)
- Exceptional Leadership capability and decision making with strong project management and coordination skills
- Highly collaborative, with a creative mindset with ability to visualize designer perspectives, studio engineering experience is a plus
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- A big-picture mindset and passion for engineering of innovative and sustainable products
- Hands-on experience with vehicle integration architecture and build flow is an advantage
- Hands-on experience with principles of DFM and DFA
- Soft skills like ideation methods, collaborative problem solving, and emotional intelligence are highly desirable

Expected Compensation
$76,000 - $285,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
