WHAT TO EXPECT:

The Global Manufacturing Engineering Logistics team is actively seeking a Standards Development Engineer to join their team at the Logistics Operations Centre (LOC) Solihull. 

 

In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in defining and improving the future state of our Manufacturing Logistics value stream, driving process efficiency, and contributing to the development of our global Logistics Operating System.

 

You will be responsible for developing, documenting, and maintaining comprehensive logistics planning standards and procedures across our automotive manufacturing facilities. You will ensure that all logistics planning activities and operations adhere to best practices, regulatory requirements, and organisational goals, driving consistency and operational excellence.

    

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document detailed logistics planning standards, guidelines, and best practices, covering areas such as space planning, capacity forecasting, material handling, warehousing, picking, lineside delivery, and reverse logistics
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process maps, flowcharts, work instructions, and training materials, to support the implementation and adherence to logistics standards
  • Provide training and support to logistics personnel on the implementation and adherence to documented standards and procedures
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with established logistics standards and identify areas for improvement
  • Work closely with the Strategy and Standards Lead to drive the creation and maintenance of a “Model Plant” vision for logistics operations, ensuring consistency and alignment across global manufacturing facilities

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Experience in developing and documenting standard operating procedures and best practices within a logistics or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes, including material handling, warehousing, and production logistics
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Office, Visio, and process mapping software.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to logistics and manufacturing operations is a plus
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically, with a problem-solving mindset and a focus on
