WHAT TO EXPECT
Join JLR's Software Centre of Excellence and be a part of the future of electrification and autonomous vehicle technologies. As a Senior Vehicle Electrification Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of next-generation test systems for some of the world's most iconic vehicles.
You’ll work on cutting-edge systems used in the verification and validation of electric propulsion and autonomous vehicle technologies. This role provides opportunities to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and drive product quality to new heights.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Design & Develop Testing Systems: Lead the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive test systems and methodologies to ensure product quality and reliability across JLR’s electrification and autonomous vehicle projects.

End-to-End Testing Activities: Oversee and conduct end-to-end testing, from planning through execution to reporting. Analyse test results to enhance performance, focusing on innovative solutions and maintaining robust test environments.

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with various engineering teams to define, document, and analyse test requirements to ensure the adequacy and robustness of the testing environment.

Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence while leading complex testing projects in alignment with industry standards.

Documentation & Reporting: Ensure all test systems, processes, results, and design enhancements are documented thoroughly. Report on the status of test activities, product performance, and any improvements made to test methodologies.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED

6+ years of experience in test system development, specifically with MIL/SIL/HIL Test Environments.

Experience in electrical powertrain components and systems, including 3-phase inverters, onboard chargers, and DCDC converters will be a distinct advantage, although training will be available for candidates keen to learn about electric vehicle systems

Strong programming skills in MATLAB and Python, with an understanding of software development practices, including version control using GitLab.

Experience with test equipment design, development, and validation processes in the electrical powertrain sector.

Proven leadership ability and the capability to guide small teams of engineers, promoting collaboration and innovation within and across teams.
