At Volvo Cars, we have bold targets when it comes to innovation, sales and customer experience, and we’re developing new technologies to lead in safety, autonomous driving, and electrification. If you want to grow together with talented people creating a new automotive future, we have a job for you.
Let's introduce ourselves
We are seeking a senior product manager for our Container Platform product in our Developer Experience area. In our Platform/Developer Experience organization, part of our Digital Core department, one of our goals is to enable and empower application teams to develop, deploy and operate their software in an efficient, inspiring, and safe manner.
We target our platform products for a cutting-edge full life cycle management via GitOps declarative infra, that we complement with Backstage as the development portal to our users – the application development teams.
The current Container Platform is Kubernetes based using AKS in Azure, EKS in AWS and OpenShift on-prem. The container platform is not limited to container runtime, but includes associated functionality such as container networking, certificate manager, management via Crossplane and container security. This tech domain is evolving rapidly with monthly new strides, and we expect you to keep up with it to make sure we are using the benefits of advances both in the market and internally.
What you'll do
The Container Platform teams are based out of Sweden, mainly Gothenburg, and India, working in a global environment with collaboration across geography, operational disciplines, and technology stacks. You will be part of empowered cross-functional product teams of engineers and engineering managers with access to a data specialist who helps understand our users and our impact. You will develop the product strategy, do discovery and define the product roadmap based on an integrated understanding of user needs, business direction, anticipated technology trends, and the required changes.
Moreover, you will initiate and lead collaboration with other products in Platform as well as application development teams, i.e. our users. You will be reporting to a Group Product Manager with whom you will help maintain the high-level strategy. As a member of the extended Product Management team, you can get further support and feedback from colleagues and together take part in reviewing and contributing to the Developer Experience areas’ vision and roadmap.
The position is based in Gothenburg, Stockholm or Bangalore.
What you'll bring
You are an experienced product manager who has adopted a Lean-Agile mindset, applied servant leadership, has effective communication skills, understands the Empowered Product Team concept, and will collaborate well with Volvo Cars's internal stakeholders and users. We would like you to have a proven record of accomplishments when working with defining what makes a great cloud, Kubernetes or DevOps software platform product assortment, related user experience, and communicating that to the product team.
You are excited about contributing to creating a best-in-class developer user experience, advocating user research based on user needs, technology field research and a data-inspired approach. You have a growth mindset and a proven history of converting learnings from insights into tangible product features that engineers, our users, love. You can think end-to-end and understand the developers but also understand the strategic needs and constraints. Lastly, you are an effective communicator; you are used to interacting with a wide set of stakeholders and getting buy-in for your ideas and roadmaps.Let's introduce ourselves
