Senior Finance Analyst - CTC

Job Description

***This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Markham Technical Centre or the Oshawa Elevation Centre, three times per week, at minimum.***

The successful candidate will provide both operational and strategic support to business partners & functional leadership. Act as the primary financial spokesperson for the represented business partner. Reports to and directly assists the functional Finance Executive and functional business partner on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, accounting and administrative operations, forecasting needs and cash/funding management.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of supported business partner with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts

  • Support creation of yearly financial objectives that align with the business partner’s plan for growth and expansion

  • Prepare and may present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss, forecast vs. budget, and cash flow

  • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures

  • Maintain outstanding relationships with business partners

  • Lead by example displaying GM behaviors, commitment to personal development and dedication to building a positive Workplace of Choice culture

  • Assist team with understanding the bigger picture and how projects relates to operational strategy / Enterprise goals

  • Anticipate partner needs (proactive vs. reactive)

  • Assist team in prioritization of workload, paint a picture to influence decision-making, facilitate collaboration across staffs, think through key analysis assumptions

  • Support Software Engineering Vice Presidents to execute their annual budget for People Cost, Bundled Services/ED&D, Proto-types and any other overhead.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in finance or business

  • Fully embraces and consistently exemplifies GM’s core cultural values and behaviors

  • 4-7 years of professional experience

  • Prior experience operating in cross-functional environment with functions including engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, technical accounting, FP&A

  • Advanced degree: MBA (preferred)

  • Prior experience operating within the GM Vehicle Development Process (preferred)

  • Ability to operate independently and self-motivated

  • Skilled communicator with the confidence and presence to present ideas to senior leadership

  • Continuously looks ahead to effectively manage priorities and meet deliverable commitments; agility to effectively adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
