Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Architect to join the team in either Hazelwood, MO or Berkeley, MO. 

The selected candidate will work with in the Specialized United States Infrastructure Operations Organization. This position will install, operate, secure, and maintain dedicated Program Information Technology Infrastructure that is required to deliver products to our customers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Architects primarily cloud-based and hybrid solutions

  • Performs initial assessments of feasibility of architecture solutions, product suitability, and integration into system of system environment

  • Develops best practices and standards around cloud and enterprise technology

  • Defines requirements, designs and verifies architecture, data and information management systems and components

  • Developments of migration strategies and approaches to move existing applications and workloads

  • Supports creation of policy and process documentation to ensure application design compliance and efficient operations

  • Develops and maintains architecture views and models of current state and future state

  • Engages with Enterprise Architecture and other organizations in the development of standard tools; assists with assessment of impact of architectural decisions to product lifecycle

  • Facilitates technical discussions with stakeholders through all phases of the software development lifecycle

  • Develops and enhance our Development, Security, Operations (DevSecOps) operations in multiple cloud service environments

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Active CompTIA Security+ certified (or similar certification meeting DoD Directive 8570.01 Certification Requirements)

  • 5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership

  • 3+ years of experience deploying web applications (COTS or custom-built) into various environments such as development, Test/QA, Production

  • 2+ years of experience in Working with Azure Cloud architecture in the deployment of software as a service (SAAS) into a cloud environment

  • Experience guiding the development of system design and requirements of solution that have been fully tested before released into production

  • Experience with System Integration and design principles including service oriented architecture principles and application integration patterns

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification

  • 5+ years of experience in developer role

  • 1+years of experience with Terraform

  • 1+years of experience developing solutions with Ansible or similar tools

  • Experience with SDLC (Software/Systems Development Lifecycle)

  • Experience working within an Agile development team

  • Experience in AWS services e.g. VPC, IAM, EC2, Auto-scaling, ELB, ECR, S3, DynamoDB, Postgres (RDS), Lambda, SQS, SNS, RDS, VPC, Route 53, Cloud Front, Cloud Watch, AWS Config, Cloudtrail, AWS Developer Tools etc.

  • Experience developing software for containerized architectures (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)

  • Experience in Manufacturing and Product Lifecycle Management systems

  • Experience architecting solutions with Containers

  • Experience with AWS Well-Architected pillars: operational excellence, compliance, security, reliability, performance efficiency, scalability and cost optimization

  • Experience developing guidelines and best practices for cloud-oriented development & implementations including containers and container orchestration

  • Experience implementing cloud security and product security

  • Experience leading strategic and tactical implementations that align to Enterprise vision and objectives

  • Experience with SAFe best practices, resource planning, and requirement decomposition to meet objectives

  • Experience with COTS configuration, integration, and implementation into a large-scale ecosystem

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $123,250 – $166,750
