We are on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Permanent Project Engineer to join our fast-paced Construction team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing commercial projects and handling submittals. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on some of the most exciting construction projects and to grow with a company that values its employees. You will be part of a team that is responsible for the successful completion of projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they meet the required standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the planning and delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
2. Prepare, review, and approve submittals, ensuring that they are accurate and comply with project specifications.
3. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to determine the specifications of the project.
4. Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring that they understand their roles and responsibilities.
5. Review and approve project designs and plans, ensuring they meet the required safety and quality standards.
6. Monitor and report on the progress of the project, identifying any issues that may arise and developing solutions to address them.
7. Conduct site inspections to ensure that the work is being carried out to the required standards and that it complies with the project specifications.
8. Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, and other project participants, ensuring that their needs and expectations are met.
9. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a project engineering role in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial projects.
3. Proven experience in preparing, reviewing, and approving submittals.
4. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
5. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
9. Proficiency in using project management software and other relevant computer applications.
10. A professional engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
