WHAT TO EXPECT

Are you passionate about shaping the future of automotive technology? Do you have the expertise to lead the development of cutting-edge software solutions that redefine driving experiences? Join us as a Product Owner for Digital Instrumentation Applications and be at the forefront of innovation for Jaguar, Land Rover, and Tata synergy projects.

As the Product Owner for DI Apps, you will play a crucial role in leading the implementation and delivery of in-house Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications software for Digital Instrument Cluster displays.

This role is central to our strategy of enhancing agility and responsiveness to change, allowing us to achieve greater efficiency than traditional software procurement methods. You will work closely with global software squads, ensuring that our software products meet the highest standards of functionality, safety, and futureproofing.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • You will be responsible for outlining and updating the Digital Instrument Cluster Software Roadmap, ensuring it aligns with the broader goals of our brands. This involves setting clear objectives for the development teams and regularly reviewing progress to ensure that we stay on course.

  • Leading highly skilled and cross-functional teams, you will drive the development of HMI applications software using Agile methodologies. Your leadership will be pivotal in ensuring that the teams deliver functional software models and HMI artefacts for auto code generation, which will be integrated into the central cockpit controller.

  • As the Product Owner, you will manage the Digital Instrument Cluster product backlog, prioritizing features and enhancements based on stakeholder input and business priorities. Your ability to balance competing demands and ensure that the most valuable features are developed will be key to your success.

  • A critical aspect of this role is to ensure that all software artefacts developed by the teams are compliant with industry standards, including functional safety, cyber security, and UNECE156 regulations. You will oversee the creation of compliant software models for business logic functions and ensure they are tested thoroughly with a high degree of automation.

  • You will be responsible for driving efficiencies in the software development process, toolchains, and CI/CD pipelines. This includes ensuring tightly controlled versioning, traceability, and optimization of the development lifecycle to maximize value from each sprint.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • You should have a strong background in managing AGILE product backlogs and delivering software products at scale. Your experience in leading cross-functional squads and delivering complex software solutions will be essential.

  • The ability to manage and engage with a diverse set of stakeholders, including senior leaders, engineers, and external partners, is critical. You should be adept at influencing outcomes and resolving impediments that may arise during the product development process.

  • You must have a deep understanding of software development processes, including testing automation, version control, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience in building software compliant with industry standards, particularly UNECE156, is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage the time, cost, and quality attributes of products throughout their lifecycle is crucial. You should be comfortable making decisions that balance these factors to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
